Meet us in Milwaukee!
Nestled on the coast of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee is a city abuzz with growth that also holds fast to its heritage. Milwaukee’s enthusiasm for youth and older adult collaboration is evident in more than 60 innovative intergenerational programs. Its focus on the health and well-being of all ages led to its ranking by AARP as fourth best place in the U.S. to live and retire. It’s also home to two Generations United Programs of Distinction-St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care and TimeSlips Creative Storytelling. Milwaukee’s investment in its youth and older adults is most evident in the formation of the Intergenerational Council in 1999, bringing together government, nonprofit organizations, businesses and community volunteers to nurture the development of intergenerational programming. Recently named a 2016 Best Intergenerational Community, it is a city committed to providing quality of life for all ages and a perfect location for the 2017 Global Intergenerational Conference.
